Basketball Meets Baseball: Blain and Dillion could barely take their eyes off each other when they noticed one another in the park that fateful afternoon. Blain had been working as a referee for a league of law firms' basketball players. The kind that are so rich that they can hire a real referee for a silly work game. Blain was bored as the lawyers compared their latest equipment and uniforms prior to the game and he caught Dillion's eye. Dillion was suffering through an after work softball league, sponsored by his new employer. He felt too frightened to tell them to fuck off yet. After about a half an hour, Dillion was able to fake an injury that he planned to work into a sick day tomorrow, and hopped over to where Blain was referee of the game. He watched Blain as he went about his job, trying to pay attention to a bad game of white-man basketball. After an hour the game broke up when the temptation to let the cell phones ring unanswered grew too hard for the lawyers to bear.
